What are they about?

Unity is a place for people to collaborate, experiment and see groundbreaking new theatre.

What did they need?

Unity were refurbishing the building to improve the customer experience within the communal areas of the building. The new brand went hand in hand with that, reflecting the new organisations’ values and objectives.

 

What was the essence of the brief?

We worked with the client to establish the values and objectives, this, in turn, created the brief to design an agile brand for now and the next 10 years that could adopt ideas the theatre hadn’t had yet.

What was the essence of the idea?

The concept of the brand was “chemistry”, the Theatre is a space where audience, performers, designers, writers and technicians all mingle and it’s that interaction that creates the atmosphere, ideas and results.

 

What did we do?

We researched, wrote up the objectives, values and created the concept for the brand. From that we designed a bespoke title and body copy font along with a “graphic system” that allows the Theatre to brand their own and touring work using multiple methods future proofing the brand.

 

What was the outcome?

The Theatre now has a clear purpose and adaptable marketing tools that have helped the Theatre be really agile in the face of the recent pandemic.
