Who?

The return Project

What are they about?

A team at the University of Liverpool were conducting a clinical trial to help people overcome barriers get them back into dental care.

What was the issue?

The client was looking for an agency to produce, film, create, edit and direct a series of videos in which we filmed participants that had ‘barriers’ preventing them from going to the dentist.

What was the essence of the brief?

To make the information for the research study as accessible and enjoyable as possible.

What was the essence of the solution?

Our solution was to make the videos more enjoyable by commissioning an illustrator to inject snippets of animation to illustrate sections of the videos to make them fun and engaging. The booklets used the illustrations to depict scenarios ensuring the information was easy to read and engaging to all participants.

What we did

We produced, filmed, edited and directed a series of videos in which we filmed participants that had ‘barriers’ preventing them from going to the dentist. Alongside the videos, we also designed and produced information packs for participants to use as their resources and to help them throughout the trial. The packs included a branded custom-made box, booklets, leaflets and appointment cards. We also designed and built a website that acts as an online resource hub for the research study’s participants and trial staff.

How did it all turn out?

The videos were well received and they have successfully completed the trial part of the study and in 2021 will commence the full trial, growing from 50 to 700 participants.
